Senior Investment finished first in three straight races during a straetch that spanned from late in his 2-year-old season into his 3-year-old campaign, but he was disqualified in one of those races. Tested against stakes competition for the first time by trainer Ken McPeek in the Grade 2 Lousiana Derby, the chestnut Discreetly Mine colt finished sixth. He bounced back with a breakthrough victory in his next start when he prevailed in the $200,000, Grade 3 Stonestreet Lexington Stakes at Keeneland Race Course.
