Secret Circle

Secret Circle was purchased for $165,000 as a 2-year-old in training. During his 2-year-old season, he proved that he could run very fast when winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint during an unbeaten season.

The son of Eddington, who was a capable two-turn stakes horse during his career, absorbed his first defeat in the Sham Stakes in January when he lost the lead in the stretch. He got back to the winner's circle with a strong performance in a division of the Southwest Stakes on Feb. 20. After winning the Rebel Stakes to solidify his credentials as a classics hopeful in 2012, Secret Circle was sidelined following a second-place finish in the Arkansas Derby.

Secret Circle returned from a long layoff to win an optional claiming race against an overmatched field. The win set him up for the Breeders' Cup Sprint, which he won. 

In 2014 the horse finished second and third in a pair of graded stakes and then finishsed second in that year's Breeders' Cup Sprint. He finished second in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile and fourth in the Grade 3 Midnight Lute Stakes to finish out the year.

Secret Circle began his 2015 campaign with a runner-up effort in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes before traveling to Dubai for the World Cup Carnival, where he won the Group 1 Golden Shaheen. 

In October 2015 it was announced Secret Circle was retired and would stand at Hill 'n' Dale Farm for the 2016 season.
