Coming into 2014 off of a long layoff, Rusty Slipper proved that she was still at the top of her game when she won the Violet Stakes in August, her first graded stakes win. She folowed that up with a third place finish in the Rodeo Drive before heading to the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
Rusty Slipper comes from a strong female family. Her half-brother Gulch Approval was a multiple graded stakes winner while her full brother was a stakes winner. She is also the half-sister to the dam of Grade 1 winner Wicked Strong.
