Rose to Gold has proved that dirt is her favorite surface, staying undefeated when running on dirt tracks as a 2-year-old. The Friends Lake filly made an attempt on Keeneland's All Weather surface but came up empty handed, finishing a disappointing 12th. However, the filly rebounded the next month with a win in the Delta Downs Princess Stakes (G1).
In 2013, Rose to Gold started off her season with a second in the Martha Washington Stakes but came back to win two other Oaklawn Park Kentucky Oaks preps impressively, tying with Beholder for the top spot in the Oaks standings.
