Ride On Curlin made a splash in late 2013 when he finished third in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes. He finished third again a few weeks later in the Street Sense Stakes, before winning an allowance race to begin his 2014 season.

Though he hasn't won often, the colt is consistent and has finished in the money in all but two of his 11 career starts. Ride On Curlin placed third in the Southwest Stakes and Rebel Stakes before a runner-up effort in the Arkansas Derby to punch his ticket to the Kentucky Derby. While a rough trip caused him to finish seventh in the Kentucky Derby, Ride On Curlin returned to the top three when he finished second in the Preakness Stakes.
By Preakness winner and two-time Horse of the Year Curlin, Ride on Curlin is out of a daughter of Grade 1 winner Victory Ride. All of his first three dams are stakes winners or stakes placed, giving the colt a strong pedigree.
After a seventh-place effort in the Kentucky Derby, Ride on Curlin was runner-up in the Preakness Stakes.
