Quidura (GB)

After winning omne of two starts in Germany, Quidura came to the United States to join the Fair Hill, Md.-based barn of trainer Graham Motion. She won her U.S. debut in September 2016 at Belmont Park before testing stakes company in October at Keeneland Race Course. Quidura proved up to that challenge with a 1 1/4-length victory in the Grade 3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes.

Quidura finished third in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland Race Course in her 2017 debut and then ran second in the Grade 2 New York Stakes. She led into deep stretch in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga in July but came up just short when second to champion Lady Eli. Quidura cemented her status as a Breeders' Cup contender with a rallying victory in the Grade 2, $250,000 Canadian Stakes at Woodbine on Sept. 16. She then ran sixth, beaten by 10 3/4 lengths, in the Grade 1 E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine on Oct. 15 in her final start as a 4-year-old.

Following her 2017 season, Quidura was purchased for $3.6 million at the Fasig-Tipton November sale by Peter Brant. She finished second by a neck in her 2018 debut in a July allowance race at Belmont Park before leading every step of the way to win the Grade 2 Woodford Reserve Ballston Spa Stakes on Aug. 25 at Saratoga. In her final two starts of 2018, the mare finished seventh in the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland and then an improved third in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar.

Quidura is a half-sister to European Group 1 winner Querari and German highweight Quasillo.
