Private Zone earned his first career U.S. graded stakes win when he outfinished Justin Phillip to win the Vosburgh Invitational Stakes in September 2013. The win gave the gelding his first Grade 1 win. He ran unplaced in the Breeders' Cup Sprint and finished out the year with a runner-up effort in the Cigar Mile.
The gelding returned to capture the 2014 Vosburgh en route to the 2014 Breeders' Cup Sprint. While he missed out on the win in the Sprint, finishing third to Work All Week and Secret Circle, he came back to win the 2014 Cigar Mile to end his season.

Private Zone made an encore appearance in the Breeders' Cup Sprint in which he finished second to Runhappy. He was then transferred to a new trainer and finished fifth in the Cigar Mile in his worst finish since November 2013.
