Princess Warrior won her career debut impressively at Churchill Downs on Sept. 16, 2017, and was immediately stepped up to compete against the best 2-year-old fillies in North America. The daughter of Midshipman finished second to Heavenly Love in the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland in her second start but was then unplaced in the 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar.
She continued to compete in graded stakes on dirt early in 2018, with her best finish a well-beaten third-place effort in the Gulfstream Park Oaks.

After two desultory efforts in allowance races on dirt during summer 2018, trainer Ken McPeek switched Princess Warrior to turf, and the filly responded with a win at Ellis Park. She then finished third, second, and fourth in stakes races on the grass at Arlington Park, Kentucky Downs, and Keeneland, the last coming in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup.
After those encouraging efforts, Princess Warrior put it all together on Nov. 23 in the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill, powering clear under Brian Hernandez Jr. for a one-length victory.
