Prince Lucky won his career debut by 5 ¾ lengths in August 2017 at Delaware Park. He followed with a third-place finish in a stakes race at Delaware in September, but Prince Lucky bounced back to win an allowance race at Laurel Park on Oct. 30. He closed his 2-year-old season with a dominant 2 ¾-length romp in the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes on Dec. 2 at Parx Racing.
Prince Lucky finished a well-beaten seventh in the Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes in his 3-year-old bow before a ninth-place finish, beaten by 14 ¼ lengths, in the Grade 3 Sunland Derby.

Subsequently gelded, Prince Lucky returned on May 19 in the Sir Barton Stakes and finished third on a sloppy track. He won the Easy Goer Stakes on the Belmont Stakes undercard by a neck on June 9.
Following his second stakes win in the Easy Goer, Prince Lucky was sidelined until February 2019, when he returned in the Grade 3 Hal’s Hope Stakes at Gulfstream Park for his 4-year-old bow. Prince Lucky outfinished stablemate Copper Town in the stretch of the Hal’s Hope and edged away late to his first career graded stakes win. He followed with another victory at Gulfstream, winning the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes on March 30 by 4 3/4 lengths as the overwhelming favorite.
