Perfect Alibi, a 2-year-old Sky Mesa filly owned by Tracy Farmer and trained by Mark Casse, impressed in her career debut on May 16 at Churchill Downs, winning a five-furlong maiden race by 9 1/2 lengths. She was immediately elevated to stakes company and started in the 5 1/2-furlong Astoria Stakes at Belmont Park on June 6, running second by three quarters of a length.

She was immediately elevated to stakes company and started in the 5 1/2-furlong Astoria Stakes at Belmont Park on June 6, running second by three quarters of a length.
Nearly two months later, Perfect Alibi returned for a start in the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga, and she capitalized on a good stalking trip under Irad Ortiz Jr. to rally strongly through the stretch and win the 6 1/2-furlong race by a half-length over 7-10 favorite Frank's Rockette.
Perfect Alibi and Frank’s Rockette resumed a budding rivalry in the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes on Sept. 1 at Saratoga, and the results were the same as Perfect Alibi defeated that foe once again and picked up her second graded stakes victory in a row. In her final prep for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, Perfect Alibi ran second in the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland in her first try stretching out around two turns.
Farmer bought the filly for $220,000 as a yearling at the Fasig-Tipton August select sale in 2018.
