Penwith earned her first career win in her second start and then closed out her 2-year-old season with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes in November 2013 at Aqueduct.
Out of 2003 Santa Anita Oaks and Las Virgenes Stakes winner Composure, by Touch Gold, Penwith posted two wins, one second and a third in eight races in 2015 and 2015, but could not secure an elusive stakes victory until she won the Grade 2 Royal Delta Stakes in February 2016.
