Mr Havercamp opened his career with back-to-back victories, winning his debut in July 2017 on the synthetic surface at Woodbine and his second race on the grass at the Toronto-area track. He then shipped to Saratoga Race Course for the Grade 3 Saranac Stakes and finished fifth by 3 ½ lengths but rebounded with consecutive victories in the Vice Regent Stakes in September and the Bunty Lawless Stakes in October, both at Woodbine. He ran seventh in the Sir Barton Stakes at Woodbine in his final start of 2017.

In his 4-year-old debut, Mr Havercamp won the Steady Growth Stakes at Woodbine. He subsequently finished fourth in the Forbidden Apple but returned to Woodbine to win his first graded stakes in the Grade 2 Play the King Stakes. Mr. Havercamp followed with a game runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile and followed with another graded stakes win in the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes in November at Woodbine. Mr Havercamp was unplaced in the Grade 2 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes at Gulfstream Park in his final start in 2018.
Making his first start of 2019 following a layoff of nearly seven months, Mr Havercamp showed no signs of rust as he surged to the lead in the stretch of the Grade 3 Forbidden Apple Stakes on July 12 at Saratoga and comfortably held off Hembree and Qurbaan to prevail.
