Stakes victories in the Dover and Lecomte have made
Mr. Bowling the standout of the first crop of his sire, Istan, a
multiple stakes-winning son of Gone West. The homebred colt from
Brereton Jones' Airdrie Stud was a buyback when he did not reach
his reserve price at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale. He
finished fourth at Delaware Park in his first career start then won
a maiden race and the 75,000 Dover. Back home in Kentucky, he ran
into some traffic problems and finished third in the Grade 3

last of 11.
