Miss Temple City

Miss Temple City earned a breakthrough stakes win during the 2015 Preakness weekend festivities when she prevailed in the Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico Race Course. She had placed in a pair of graded stakes before that stakes victory.

Trainer Graham Motion subsequently sent her to England where she finished fourth by two lengths in a Group 1 race at the prestigous Royal Ascot meeting. Upon returning to the U.S., Miss Temple City placed in a pair of Grade 2 races before finishing second by a head in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes at Keeneland. 

It was at Keeneland in 2016 where Miss Temple City would earn her first career-defining victories. She defeated males twice at the Lexington track when winning the Maker's 46 Mile Stakes and the Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes, both Grade 1s. To close out her 4-year-old campaign, she then traveled west to Del Mar and won another Grade 1 event, the Matriarch Stakes.

In 2017, Miss Temple City made her first start at the prestigious Royal Asoct meet in England, and finished 13^th in the Queen Anne Stakes. She returned to the U.S. for the Grade 3 WinStar Matchmaker Stakes on July 30, and finished third behind Wekeela and War Flag. Miss Temple City got back on track in September at Kentucky Downs with a hard-fought victory over Zipessa in the Grade 3 Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes. 

Miss Temple City then attempted a Shadwell Turf Mile repeat on Oct. 7 at Keeneland, and loomed a threat when second in the stretch before tiring to finish a respectable sixth in the 14-horse field.
