After winning 6 of his first 16 races, Melmich earned a breakthrough stakes victory in the OLG Elgin Stakes Presented by Bear Stables Stakes at Woodbine in September 2015. Later that year, he won his first graded stakes with a win in the Grade 3 Valedictory Stakes in November at Woodbine.
After winning 6 of his first 16 races, Melmich earned a breakthrough stakes victory in the OLG Elgin Stakes Presented by Bear Stables Stakes at Woodbine in September 2015. Later that year, he won his first graded stakes with a win in the Grade 3 Valedictory Stakes in November at Woodbine.
In 2016, he won the Grade 3 Dominion Day Stakes before a repeat win in the OLG Elgin Stakes. In 2017, he earned a repeat win in the Dominion Day Stakes in his second start of the season, and followed that up with a nose win in the Grade 3 Seagram Cup Stakes, a win in the black-type Elgin Stakes, and then a 7 ½-length romp in the Grade 3 Durham Cup.
