Magical won four of 11 starts in Europe for her Coolmore ownership group during 2017-18. After Magical won the Grade 1 British Champion Filly and Mare Stakes at Ascot on Oct. 20 as a 3-year-old, her connections shipped the filly to the U.S. for a start in the Grade 1 Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf. Magical battled Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Enable through the middle of Churchill Downs’ stretch in a game effort but came up three-quarters of a length short.

In 2019, Magical won five of nine starts, including two Group 1 wins in Ireland and one in England. She repeated in two of those races in 2020, winning back-to-back editions of both the Irish Champion Stakes and the Tattersalls Gold Cup. Magical also won the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes before returning to the U.S. and running second Nov. 7 at Keeneland in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf.
