Bio
After winning one of four starts as a 2-year-old, Lovely Maria improved by leaps and bounds as a sophomore. She defeated highly regarded Shook Up in her 3-year-old bow before her graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes, where she finished a solid second to highly regarded stablemate I'm a Chatterbox.

She then shipped to Lexington for the Ashland Stakes and responded with a 3 1/4-length win to punch her ticket to the Kentucky Oaks for trainer Larry Jones and owner Airdrie Stud, who together have won the Oaks twice before with Proud Spell (2008) and Believe You Can (2012).
Lovely Maria made it three Kentucky Oaks wins for the duo when she galloped to an impressive 2 3/4-length victory in the 2015 edition.
The daughter of second-crop stallion Majesticperfection is out of Thundercup, from the family of Norwegian champions Butterfly Rose and Missy Baldski.
