Line of Duty took three tries to break his maiden, finishing second by a neck and then one length before breaking through with a half-length win in September 2018. He then jumped into stakes company and won the Group 3 Prix de Conde at Chantilly on Oct. 1. Trainer Charlie Appleby and owner Godolphin saw enough talent in the colt to ship him to the U.S. to compete in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, which he won on Nov. 2 at Churchill Downs in what was another tight finish.
