Off Limits won two of six starts in her native Ireland before coming to the U.S. for her 4-year-old season in 2016. After failing to win in five starts in 2016, she won her 5-year-old bow at Belmont Park and then ran second in the Perfect Sting Stakes. After an allowance victory at Saratoga in August, Off Limits made her U.S. graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Stakes and charged from last to first for a 4 3/4-length victory. She followed with another graded stakes victory, taking the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes by a neck on Oct. 28 at Belmont Park.

Shipped west to Del Mar in late November for the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes, Off Limits made it three straight graded stakes wins in a row for trainer Chad Brown, going last to first in an electrifying performance to defeat Hawksmoor by a length.
