Life’s a Parlay ran third in his career debut on Jan. 6, 2018, but he would not be denied three weeks later in his second race, leading from start to finish in a 1 ½-length victory at one mile at Gulfstream Park.
The bay colt did not race for more than eight months after the victory. He returned on Oct. 13 and closed from off the pace at Belmont Park to post a 1 ¼-length win at seven-eighths of a mile. He made his stakes debut in his final start as a 3-year-old in the one-mile Gio Ponti Stakes and finished second.

Life’s a Parlay made his 4-year-old bow a winning one on March 16 at Oaklawn Park, winning an allowance race by a neck in a game performance in which he was pressed throughout the one-mile race. He returned to stakes competition for the 1 1/8-mile, Grade 3 Exelsior Stakes on April 6 at Aqueduct, pulled away to a clear lead in early stretch, and held on comfortably to post a one-length win.
Life’s a parlay is a half-brother (same dam, different sire) to Grade 1 winner Declassify.
