Leofric earned a breakthrough first victory in his fourth career start in January 2017 at Oaklawn Park. Consecutive allowance wins at Oaklawn followed before Leofric ran third in the Tenacious Stakes in December 2017 at Fair Grounds in his stakes debut.
Leofric earned a breakthrough first victory in his fourth career start in January 2017 at Oaklawn Park. Consecutive allowance wins at Oaklawn followed before Leofric ran third in the Tenacious Stakes in December 2017 at Fair Grounds in his stakes debut.
Leofric opened his 5-year-old season with an allowance win at Oaklawn in January 2018 before running second to Hawaakom in the Grade 3 Razorback Handicap. After another allowance win, this time at Prairie Meadows, Leofric earned his first stakes win with a hard-fought victory in the Grade 3 West Virginia Governor's Stakes at Mountaineer. After running third in the Woodward Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets, Leofric rallied past Prime Atraction in the closing strides of the Grade 2 Hagyard Fayette Stakes in October at Keeneland for his second graded stakes victory.
Turned back quickly after the Fayette by Cox and moved up in class, Leofric responded with a career-best performance in the Grade 1 Clark Handicap Presented by Norton Healthcare, outdueling Bravazo in deep stretch to secure his first top-level win by a neck.
