Legatissimo won the one-mile QIPCO One Thousand Guineas in May 2015 in her third race as a 3-year-old for trainer David Wachman. She subsequently showed her versatility with a runner-up finish by a nose in the 1 1/2-mile Investec Epsom Oaks.
After a somewhat disappointing second by a nose in the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes, Legatissimo bounced back with consecutive dominant performances in the Group 1 Qatar Nassau Stakes and the Group 1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes.

“She is probably the best I’ve ever trained at this stage,” Wachman told Racing Post after the Matron. “She has been so good all year and this was probably her best performance.”
Legatissimo shipped to the U.S. to contest the 2015 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf, which she finished second in.
Legatissimo is by a fantastic miler in Danehill Dancer and her dam (mother), Yummy Mummy, is a full-sister (same dam and sire) to 2009 Irish Derby victory Fame And Glory.
