Keen Pauline broke her maiden at second asking at Churchill Downs in September of her 2-year-old year. She followed that up with a pair of in-the-money finishes and a fourth-place effort at Keeneland in April 2015. The filly then tried stakes company for the first time, setting an easy pace in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and kicking on to win the race.
Keen Pauline is a daughter of late stallion Pulpit and out of the unraced Two Punch mare Grand Pauline. Keen Pauline is named for owner-breeder Barbara Banke's mother.
