Jean Elizabeth

Illinois-bred Jean Elizabeth opened her career with four consecutive victories, including a win in the Pretty Jenny Stakes at Woodbine in April 2018. She suffered the first loss of her career when second by a length in the Purple Violet Stakes in June 2018 at Arlington Park.

After another close runner-up finish at Arlington, she won back-to-back allowance races at the Chicago-area racetrack by open lengths in August 2018.

Jean Elizabeth subsequently finished third by a half-length in the Dogwood Stakes on a sloppy track at Churchill Downs before returning to Woodbine and running third, beaten by a neck in the Ruling Angel Stakes. She closed out her 3-year-old season with a runner-up finish in the Autumn Days Stakes at Aqeuduct Nov. 25.

After a freshening of more than seven months, Jean Elizabeth returned in July 2019 and won the Isaac Murphy Handicap by 3 ¾ lengths. After shipping to Presque Isle Downs and running second in an allowance race, she led from start to finish in a two-length win in the Sweet Briar Too Stakes at Woodbine. She again set the pace in her graded stakes debut four weeks later in the Grade 3 Ontario Fashion Stakes and held on gamely late to win by three-quarters of a length.

After posting her second consecutive stakes win and her first graded stakes win, Jean Elizabeth got even better a very active winter racing campaign during 2019-20. She won a handicap at Hawthorne Park and then four more listed stakes races, at three different tracks (Turfway Park, two at Gulfstream Park, and Tampa Bay Downs). Riding a seven-race winning streak, Jean Elizabeth returned after a four-month break to Woodbine for the Grade 3 Whimsical Stakes on June 21, 2020, and led from start to finish for a one-length score. That improved her impressive career record to 15 wins from 21 starts, with four seconds and two thirds, and boosted her bankroll to over $662,000.
