I'm a Chatterbox

I'm a Chatterbox won her debut at Keeneland before finishing third in an allowance optional claiming at Churchill Downs. She next finished fourth in the Grade 2 Golden Rod before annexing the Silverbulletday Stakes in her first start as a 3-year-old by a widening eight lengths. I'm a Chatterbox solidified her credentials as a leading Kentucky Oaks contender with a victory in the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes on Feb. 21.

I'm a Chatterbox made her final prep race for the Kentucky Oaks a memorable one with yet another dominant performance in the Fair Grounds Oaks, which has produced six of the last 10 Kentucky Oaks winners.

The filly couldn't make it seven of 11, as she finished third in the 2015 Kentucky Oaks behind Lovely Maria and familiar rival Shook Up after falling far off the pace in the opening stages.

I'm a Chatterbox returned in July, crossing the wire first in the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks but was later disqualified to second. The filly then finished second in the Grade 1 Alabama, also at Saratoga.

I'm a Chatterbox subsequently shipped to Parx Racing, where she turned in a tour de force in the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes to cement her credentials as a leading candidate for the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff.

In the Distaff, I'm a Chatterbox encountered some significant traffic entering the first turn and never really looked comfortable while failing to fire and finishing eighth.

Trainer Larry Jones brought I'm a Chatterbox back for her 4-year-old campaign in 2016, and the filly added two more Grade 1 wins to her résumé. She won the Delaware Handicap in July and, in her final prep before a planned return to the Breeders' Cup Distaff, romped in the Juddmonte Spinster Stakes at Keeneland Race Course in October. 

The chestnut filly is from the first crop of multiple graded stakes-winning sprinter Munnings and out of the winning Lost Soldier mare Chit Chatter. She is from the family of multiple stakes winner Bedroom Blues, graded stakes winner Commander and multiple graded stakes-placed Past the Point and Saturday's Charm. She was offered at the Keeneland September sale but did not achieve her reserve with a final bid of $30,000.
