Hostess, an English-bred Iffraaj filly, made her first three starts in her home country during 2018 and won her third outing before shipping to the U.S. The Simon Callaghan trainee did not make her stakes debut until April, and was sent off at 25.50-1 odds in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Under a well-timed ride from Drayden Van Dyke, Hostess rallied through the stretch to win by a nose.
