Honey Bunny needed nine starts to earn her first victory after coming in second four times and third twice in her first eight races. She followed her first visit to the winner’s circle with two more in her next two races in October 2017 at Indiana Grand.
In May 2018, Honey Bunny posted her first career stakes win when she Prairie Rose Stakes by six lengths at Prairie Meadows. She next ran second in the Saylorville Stakes, also at Prairie Meadows, but that was the first of a five-race winless stretch to close out 2018.

After a third-place finish at Fair Grounds, she ripped off four straight wins at Oaklawn, Keeneland, and Churchill Downs to earn another shot in a graded stakes in the Grade 3 Winning Colors Stakes on May 25 at Churchill Downs. Honey Bunny closed powerfully in deep stretch to collar Astrollinthepark and Upset Brewing for her first career graded stakes triumph.
