Hawkish won his career debut by a half-length in January 2018 at Gulfstream Park. He then finished fourth after contending for the lead in the stretch of the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes on March 3.
In his third start, Hawkish regained his winning stride with a visually impressive 4 3/4-length victory in an allowance race at Aqueduct on April 15. Returning to stakes competition for the $500,000, Grade 2 Penn Mile Stakes, Hawkish delivered a tour de force in the one-mile race, surging clear from the opposition in the stretch en route to a dominant victory.

Hawkish is out of the unraced Unbridled mare Bridal Memories, a half-sister (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to multiple Grade 1 winner Winter Memories and three other stakes winners. Hawkish's second dam (maternal grandmother) is multiple Grade 1 winner Memories of Silver, by Silver Hawk.
