Havelock earned his first graded stakes victory in the Grade 2 Play the King Stakes after a little over a year of racing. He followed that up with a win in the Grade 3 Woodford Stakes two starts later. The gelding went four starts before he got his next win, winning the Hanshin Cup Stakes in May of 2012.

Havelock started 2013 with a win in the Shaketown Stakes at Keeneland in April before traveling to England for two attempts at international group stakes. The gelding finished 11th in both of his attempts but on his return to Keeneland, romped in the Woodford for his second victory in the race.
