Got Lucky has never finished worse than second in five career starts. She ran second in Aqueduct's Demoiselle Stakes while still a maiden before winning her first start as a 3-year-old. She then placed in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes and the Gazelle Stakes to secure a slot in the 2014 Kentucky Oaks starting gate.

She then placed in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes and the Gazelle Stakes to secure a slot in the 2014 Kentucky Oaks starting gate.
After finishing seventh in in the Oaks, she came back two months later and won an allowance before finishing off the board in two grade 1 races. Got Lucky has stepped up to the plate in 2015, winning four races including the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes to earn a spot in the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff.
Got Lucky is a daughter of the influential sire A.P. Indy from the Deputy Minister mare Malka. She is named because it took her dam five breedings to the sire to get in foal.
