He placed in the TVG Summer Stakes that summer in his second career start, but did not test stakes company again until spring 2017. In July, he posted a huge upset win in the Grade 2 King Edward Stakes on Woodbine’s turf, edging Hootenanny by a head at odds of 44.65-1.
