Global Access

After an unplaced finish in his career debut sprinting on a dirt main track, Global Access won his second start at 1 1/16 miles on the synthetic main track at Woodbine in October 2018. He ran third in the Display Stakes at the same track and distance in his final race at two.

The Giant’s Causeway colt was switched to grass to begin his 3-year-old campaign. After an unplaced finish in his first try on turf, Global Access finished third in the Columbia Stakes going a mile at Tampa Bay Downs before winning the DRF Bets Sophomore Turf Stakes at Tampa by a head on March 31, 2019 for his first stakes win.

Global Access then shipped north to Woodbine and returned to the synthetic main track for a runner-up finish in the Wando Stakes. He subsequently earned a breakthrough graded stakes win in the Grade 3 Marine Stakes on May 25 when he opened a clear lead in early stretch and held of favored Skywire by a length to prevail.

In his next two starts, Global Access posted two good third-place finishes in stakes at Woodbine and Saratoga. He returned to the winner’s circle on Aug. 31, taking his second career graded stakes event in the Grade 3 Saranac Stakes at Saratoga with a rallying score over odds-on favorite Good Governance. Global Access made it two graded stakes wins in a row with a victory in the Grade 3 Ontario Derby on the synthetic main track at Woodbine Sept. 28.

Multiple graded stakes winner Daveron, by Black Sam Bellamy, is the dam (mother) of Global Access as well as multiple stakes winner March to the Arch. This is the family that produced 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom.
