Funny Duck finished seventh in his debut race in September 2017 on dirt at Churchill Downs and then was switched to turf for his next five starts. He took four more starts to break his maiden, finishing sixth, second twice, and then winning a one-mile turf race at Gulfstream Park.
The son of Distorted Humor then moved up to stakes company in the Grade 3 Transylvania at Keeneland but finished seventh.
