A pair of impressive wins at Santa Anita put Fed Biz near the top of trainer Bob Baffert's list of Kentucky Derby prospects in 2012. He continued his three race winning streak with a 3 1/2 length win in the El Cajon Stakes at Del Mar. He captured second in the first graded stakes of his career, the Indiana Derby, but finished 2012 with a disappointing start in the Malibu Stakes.

Son of 2000 European Horse of the Year, Giant's Causeway, Fed Biz started out 2013 with a win in the Grade 2 San Fernando Stakes. After placing in multiple graded stakes races throughout the year, the colt won the Grade 2 Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar.
Fed Biz was purchased for $950,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale. His dam, Spunoutacontrol, is from an impressive family. She is a half-sister to the stallion Tale of the Cat; to Myth, dam of Johannesburg; and to Minardi, who was a 2-year-old champ of England.
