Favorite Tale won three races in a row to kick off his career and captured his first stakes race in May of his 3-year-old season. He stepped up to the graded stakes level and finished a disappointing 14th in the Woody Stephens Stakes in his next start, but the gelding soon found his way to the winner's circle after taking the Grade 3 Gallant Bob Stakes. In 2015 he won the Grade 2 Smile Sprint Stakes, earning a spot in the Breeders' Cup Sprint starting gate, and finished third in the Grade 1 Vanderbilt. He finished third in the Sprint at Keeneland.
