After winning one of his two starts in his native England, Fashion Business came to the United States and made his stateside debut in May 2017, finishing unplaced in a stakes race at Santa Anita.
After winning one of his two starts in his native England, Fashion Business came to the United States and made his stateside debut in May 2017, finishing unplaced in a stakes race at Santa Anita.
He finished in the top three in three of his next four races, a stretch that included a runner-up finish by a head in the Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap at Del Mar. Fashion Business halted a six-race winless stretch in his 4-year-old debut with a 2 ¼-length win in an allowance race at Santa Anita. In August 2018, Fashion Business secured his first career stakes win when jockey Flavien Prat made a bold, sweeping move on the turn of the Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap Presented by The Japan Racing Association as the pair opened a commanding lead in the stretch and rolled to a dominant victory. The win earned Fashion Business a guaranteed starting spot in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf via the Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series.
From the first crop of undefeated European Horse of the Year Frankel, Fashion Business is out of Grade 1 winner Icon Project, by Empire Maker. Grade 1 winner La Gueriere is the grandma (maternal grandmother) of Fashion Business.
