Euphrosyne

After three bridesmaid performances, Euphrosyne finally broke her maiden in her fourth start, and first as a 3-year-old, by 6 3/4 lengths. The filly continued her bridesmaid ways in the Martha Washington Stakes, finishing second to Aragorn Amy. She looked to be getting another second in the Honeybee Stakes, but was promoted to first after Sugar Shock impeded her path with a furlong left in the race. The filly then was unplaced in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on Preakness day.

Euphrosyne is by the late Harlan's Holiday who has sired three champions, including Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner and champion 2-year-old Shanghai Bobby. She is the first foal out of the stakes winning mare Three Graces, who is also the half sister to Grade 2 winner Private Horde.
