Elizabeth Way began her career in Ireland, where she raced five times and finished second twice. She subsequently was transferred to Roger Attfield in North America and won her stateside debut in a one-mile maiden race Jan. 19, 2020, at Gulfstream Park.

The Frankel filly followed with an upset win at 14-1 odds in the Grade 3 The Very One Stakes Feb. 29 at Gulfstream, where she pulled clear to a 1 ¼-length score. She followed with a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Orchid Stakes before fading badly late in an unplaced finish in the Grade 3 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes May 30 at Churchill Downs. Elizabeth Way regained her winning form in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes June 27 at Woodbine, where she reeled in Another Time in deep stretch for a determined victory.
Grade 1 winner Maids Causeway, by Giant’s Causeway, is the dam (mother) of Elizabeth Way.
