Easter Gift won his first two career starts before entering his first graded stakes race and ending up with a runner-up finish in the Grade 3 Pegaus Stakes. The Hard Spun colt earned a breakthrough stakes win in the 2012 Grade 3 Smarty Jones Stakes that fall.
In 2013, the colt showed he was competitive with three straight wins, including the Mountain View Handicap. Easter Gift finished second in the Alydar Stakes and fifth in the Grade 2 Kelso Handicap to end his 4-year-old season.
