Duopoly, a 3-year-old daughter of Kentucky Derby and Dubai Word Cup winner Animal Kingdom, finished seventh in her debut in May 2020 but won her second start on the front end at Monmouth Park in July, taking a 1 1/16-mile turf maiden by five lengths.

Trainer Chad Brown then brought Duopoly to Saratoga for its summer meet, and she controlled the pace yet again to win a 1 1/16-mile allowance by 1 ¾ lengths. The filly was elevated to stakes company after that and finished fifth in the Grade 3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes at Keeneland. She shipped back to New York and won the listed Winter Memories Stakes at Aqueduct in late November before Brown decided to bring her to Santa Anita Park for the Grade 1 American Oaks at 1 ¼ miles on that track’s Dec. 26 opening-day card.
With Flavien Prat aboard, Duopoly took the lead early in the American Oaks and set the pace throughout, finding another gear in the stretch to defeat Going to Vegas by two lengths and earn a signature victory.
Duopoly is out of the Grade 3-winning Danehill Dancer mare Justaroundmidnight.
