Winning in his second start, Dubai Sky hasn't lost a start since that victory. Two starts later, Dubai Sky won the Kitten's Joy Stakes but the Spiral Stakes over polytrack was his first big victory. Not nominated for the Triple Crown before the win, Dubai Dky was nominated for the Kentucky Derby after his Spiral win and will be training at Churchill Downs to get used to the dirt surface before the race. Dubai Sky is a homebred for Besilu Stable, who partnered with Three Chimneys last year on its horses. Dubai Sky's Spiral win is the partnership's graded stakes victory.
Dubai Sky is a full brother to Grade 1 winner Twirling Candy and half brother to Grade 2 winner Ethnic Dance. Farther back in his family is the Candy Ride colt Chocolate Candy, who won the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby in 2009.
