Don't Tell Sophia

Don't Tell Sophia broke her maiden at Indiana Downs in her second start. She won an allowance race in her very next start at Hoosier Park by an impressive 8 3/4 lengths. Her next victory was in an allowance race at Keeneland, before finishing fifth in the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs.

In 2012 Don't Tell Sophia won an allowance race at Churchill and brought in 2013 with a win in both the Pippin and Bayakoa Stakes at Oaklawn. She placed second in the Grade 3 Azeri Stakes and third in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap. She was successful in the fall season with a second-place finish in both the Mari Hulman George Stakes and the Grade 2 Falls City Handicap. The mare found graded stakes victory in the Grade 2 Chilukki Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths.

As a 6-year-old, Don't Tell Sophia captured repeat wins in the Pippin Stakes and Bayakoa Stakes before a third-place finish in the Azeri. The mare was given a rest, returning from the layoff to run second in the Locust Grove Stakes in September. In her next race, Don't Tell Sophia defeated heavy favorite and top older mare Close Hatches to win her first Grade 1 race, the Spinsterm, at Keeneland in October. The $1,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase pushed her career earnings to $979,295 with the win.
