A half-brother (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to three-time champion Royal Delta and Grade 1 winner Crown Queen, Delta Prince needed three starts to earn his first career win, winning his first try on grass at Gulfstream Park in December 2016.
He followed with an allowance victory at Gulfstream before running second by a half-length in the Grade 3 Appleton Stakes in April 2017. After another allowance win in August 2017 at Saratoga, Delta Prince closed his 2017 season with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch Handicap in September at Saratoga.

Delta Prince returned from a long layoff for his first start of 2018 in the Grade 2 King Edward Stakes at Woodbine on June 30 and he completed the one-mile race in a blistering 1:32.45 to secure his first career stakes win. He followed with a runner-up finish by a neck in the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap in August at Saratoga before running fourth in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile in September. Delta Prince finished third in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap in his final start of 2018.
Delta Prince made a nice middle move in his next start in the Pegasus World Cup Turf and looked dangerous entering the stretch, but he flattened out a bit and settled for third behind winner Bricks and Mortar and runner-up Magic Wand. He returned to the winner's circle in his next start when he completed a last-to-first rally to win the Grade 1 Maker's 46 Mile Stakes on April 12 at Keeneland.
