Dance With Fate broke his maiden by 1 1/2 lengths at Del Mar. Less than a month later the Two Step Salsa colt placed second in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, missing the win by a short half-length behind Tamarando. At Santa Anita the colt placed second in the Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes on the dirt behind Bond Holder with Tamarando in third.

Running for the first time on turf, Dance With Fate made his 3-year-old debut in an optional claiming race where he won by 1 3/4 lengths. He followed that up by finishing second to Tamarando in the El Camino Real Derby before venturing to Kentucky where he sealed his Kentucky Derby ticket with a win in the Blue Grass Stakes. Dance With Fate finished sixth of 19 in the 2014 Kentucky Derby after a rough trip.
Dance With Fate was sold as a 2-year-old for $120,000. From the first crop of Two Step Salsa, Dance With Fate is from the family of multiple graded stakes winner Biogio's Rose and the Blue Grass Stakes winner My Gallant.
