Cool Arrow, a 5-year-old Into Mischief gelding owned by My Purple Haze Stables and trained by Teresa Pompay, earned his first career graded stakes win in his 26th career start, taking the Grade 3 Smile Sprint Stakes by three-quarters of a length on Sept. 5, 2020, at Gulfstream Park.
Cool Arrow, a 5-year-old Into Mischief gelding owned by My Purple Haze Stables and trained by Teresa Pompay, earned his first career graded stakes win in his 26th career start, taking the Grade 3 Smile Sprint Stakes by three-quarters of a length on Sept. 5, 2020, at Gulfstream Park.
He made his first 17 starts primarily racing on the Midwest circuit, notching two stakes wins, but improved in fall 2019 when settled in South Florida and for his new connections. The gelding reached top form during summer 2020, winning an allowance optional claiming race and a listed stakes before taking the Smile Sprint as the 11-10 favorite. He improved to 10 wins through 26 starts with that victory and boosted his career bankroll to over $590,000.
