Constellation

Constellation broke her maiden at first asking as a 2-year-old, and then moved up to graded stakes competition for her next two starts where she finished third in the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga and second in the Grade 2 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park. She became a stakes winner in her fourth career start, capturing the Furlough Stakes by 8 1/4 lengths.

As a 3-year-old in 2016, Constellation continued to compete at the stakes level, winning the Ruthless Stakes and finishing fourth in the Cicada Stakes before a seven-month vacation. She resurfaced on the West Coast with a new trainer, tallying a win in the City of Phoenix Stakes in November 2016 at Turf Paradise in Arizona. Her next target was considerably higher, but Constellation answered the challenge and became a Grade 1 stakes winner in December after running down Finley'sluckycharm to emerge victorious from the La Brea Stakes on opening day at Santa Anita Park.

Constellation was an $800,000 2-year-old in training purchase. She is a daughter of Bellamy Road and her name comes from her unique coloring, chestnut with many small white dots spread across her body.
