Concrete Rose

Concrete Rose won her career debut in August 2018 at Saratoga, where she charged from off the pace to post a 1 ¾-length victory. Making her second start in the Grade 2 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland, the Twirling Candy filly again overwhelmed the opposition. She took command in early stretch and powered clear to win by three lengths.

In her final start as a 2-year-old, Concrete Rose was second approaching the stretch in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf but faded late and finished eighth, 11 lengths behind the winner, on  boggy turf course.

Concrete Rose returned four months later in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs on March 9 and outfinished Blowout and Winter Sunset to prevail. Freshened after that race, Concrete Rose gained a measure of revenge on Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Newspaperofrecord in the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes Presented by Forcht Bank when she reeled in the pacesetter in deep stretch and surged past for a convincing win. Concrete Rose proved that victory was no fluke and improved to three wins in three starts to begin her 2019 campaign when she powered to a dominant victory over a deep, talented field in the $750,000, Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes on July 6. She followed with a runaway 4 3/4-length win in the Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes Aug. 2 at Saratoga. The Belmont Oaks-Saratoga Oaks double gave her the first two-thirds of the New York Racing Association's inaugural Turf Tiara.

Out of the winning Powerscourt mare Solerina, Concrete Rose hails from the family of 1987 Horse of the Year Ferdinand.
