Cheermeister made her 3-year-old bow Jan. 4 at Gulfstream in the Ginger Brew Stakes and broke through the starting gate before the race began. She finished unplaced after the gate trouble. Cheermeister bounced back in a big way in the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant Stakes when she went right to the front and led all the way en route to a three-quarter-length victory. She followed with a front-running win by the same three-quarter-length margin in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes Feb. 29.
Cheermeister is out of the winning Ghostzapper mare Kuhlu, a half-sibling to three stakes winners.
