Chasing Yesterday, a Summer Wind Equine homebred, won her career debut on July 28, 2018, at Del Mar by 4 ¼ lengths at 3-10 odds. The highly regarded Tapit filly then shipped to Saratoga for the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes, but finished a disappointing seventh.
Trainer Bob Baffert then returned the filly to California, and she picked up two consecutive listed stakes wins before stretching out for two turns in the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos Race Course on Dec. 8. She won that race in a game effort to improve her 2-year-old record to four wins from five starts.
