The Broken Vow filly, a $310,000 purchase by her ownership group in spring 2016, finished second in her career debut for trainer Peter Eurton at Del Mar in July before winning the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths on Aug. 6.
She subsequently finished third in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante and fourth, after a rough early trip, in the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes on Oct. 1 at Santa Anita.
Mario Gutierrez maneuvered Champagne Room through a perfect stalking trip behind pacesetter Noted and Quoted in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, and she had enough left late to hold off a charge from Valadorna and win by three-quarters of a length.
After the 2016 season, Champagne Room was the Eclipse Award winner as named champion 2-year-old filly.
In 2017, Champagne Room debuted with a third-place finish in the Las Virgines Stakes, but then did not race until September, when she won the Remington Park Oaks. Champagne Room next raced in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff, finishing sixth, and then closed out 2017 with a runner-up effort behind Majestic Heat in the Bayakoa Stakes at Los Alamitos.
